Wonder why P.oceanica?
One name stood out during my five-year journey majoring in marine environmental sciences: Posidonia oceanica, the iconic Mediterranean seagrass. Thanks to my professors, who unanimously emphasized its ecological importance, it’s maybe the only taxon name I can confidently spell.
Now, as I start this blog, I’m finally putting everything I’ve learned in one place. After days of brainstorming names combining generic words like sustain, eco, and green, I realized there’s no better pick than P.oceanica.
A nod to the seagrass that symbolizes resilience and the beauty of marine ecosystems.
